Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, a Mexican-American sportscaster. She is employed by ESPN and is a SportsCenter News Anchor. She began working for ESPN in 2016. Her mother is the television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual by the time she turned nine. It is this skill that helped her get her first job as a Univision Production Assistant in Miami. She collaborated with producers for television shows that were national, like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. In 2009, the CBS station of St. Petersburg hired her after this as an sports reporter. She moved in 2009 into Rio Grande Valley, Texas to work as a news reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision. Eventually, they settled in Mexico City and she was born on the 22nd of November in 1985. There is also an older sibling. The family settled in Miami after moving to Mexico into the US. They divorced shortly thereafter and in 1995 her mother got married to an architect from the naval profession named Fabio Fajardo who died from kidney cancer in the year 2006. When on vacation, Antonietta stayed at the home of her sister in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins brother had recently been offered an offer to work. Still a senior in high school and yet with a clear idea about what she wanted to pursue in her future, Antonietta was able to visit at the University of Mount Union to examine if it was a good fit for her requirements. It was a beautiful campus and provided the education she sought. When she finished her high school education, she chose to attend the University with a major with Media Studies. Professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM, and was part of her class, formed a lasting relationship with her. Her professor, Mark Bergmann, inspired her by his passion for journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
