Kristin Fischer will join CNN as its Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. In her position as the Space and Defence Correspondent for CNN, she is responsible for covering all aspects of space, from NASA and its newly created Space Force up until commercial space firms, as well as the advent and growth of space tourism. Kristin has a background in the space sector as the granddaughter and daughter of NASA astronauts. Over the last five years she's been covering space policy under the Trump and Biden Administrations on FOX News. Over the course of this time, she covered the presidential 2020 campaign, two impeachment trials and two attempts to prevent the corona virus pandemic, as well as two different administrations' efforts. The former president Donald Trump traveled to Afghanistan for a restricted trip. Kristin was a TV local reporter for Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, Washington, D.C., where she earned the Emmy Award for her work as a "one-man-band" reporter, before being hired by CBS in 2015. Kristin founded Field Mouse Films with her skills behind the camera back in 2014. The company specialized in producing documentaries for corporate clients, such as Uber as well as Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin received her Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Boston University. She lives in Washington, D.C., with her entire family, which includes their daughter, who is three years old.
